Oracle Health’s AI-Driven Electronic Health Record (EHR), launched August 2025

Overview:

When Oracle bought Cerner, the first mission was to modernize, redesign, and build a new electronic health record (EHR) utilizing cloud, cybersecurity, and AI-driven technologies. The Oracle Health EHR launched in August 2025.

As a Senior Human Factors Researcher for Cerner, within the Oracle Health AI department, I was responsible for leading research and testing to define the design, development, and functional and non-functional requirements for several AI-driven features of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) product. These features included charting, notes, documentation, patient summary, and the results and vitals dashboard.

I was also responsible for leading and conducting research and testing to inform design and development for future release clinical products such as: revenue cycle scheduling feature, consumer / patient portal, and consumer mobile app.

My first goal was to familiarize the non-clinical design and product teams on clinical roles, specifically the Primary Care Physician (PCP). The role of the PCP and their actions within the EHR were planned to be part of the initial launch.
