Web and Mobile Products:
New Product Design- Personalized Learning Program
Overview:
A collaboration between a California school district, engineering, product, and ethnographers. Our client wanted to create an application that would embody the whole student and provide personalized learning. Our work with the school-district helped them win a $10M award for innovation presented by a President of the United States.
Our Users:
Initially the MVP (Minimum Viable Product)was designed for school faculty such as; teachers, administrators and counselors who work with an individual student.
The goal for V2 was to incorporate students, parents, and the rest of the secondary faculty that works with the individual student.
Our Tasks:
To provide specifications to develop a blueprint for the PLP (Personalized Learning Program) application that included user testing, user stories, requirements, and a proof of concept.
Our research team divided research among schools, and we came together in analysis. For the schools, teachers, and staff I worked with, I led onsite focus groups, interviews, diary studies, and ethnographic research with teachers, administrators, other school staff, and students. I performed usability testing with students and teachers on iPads and the pilot of the first deployment.
